Leicester City midfielder Jak McCourt has today completed a permanent transfer to League 1 side Barnsley.

Jak, 20, graduated from the Leicester City Academy and signed his first professional contract in 2013, before going on to become a regular, reliable fixture in the Club's Under-21 Development Squad, often serving as captain.

He enjoyed a fruitful, 12-game loan spell with Torquay United, where he made his Football League debut in the Autumn of 2013.

He also played three times for League 1 side Port Vale during a short loan spell earlier this season.

Should his registration be cleared in time, Jak could be available for the Tykes when they face Swindon Town on Saturday.

We wish him well in his future career.
