Kante: Nothing Is Done Yet

With a huge Barclays Premier League trip to Arsenal on the horizon, N’Golo Kanté says nothing but Leicester City’s best will do if they are to emerge triumphant at Emirates Stadium.

On a weekend where the league’s top four teams all go head-to-head, the Foxes have an opportunity to extend their five-point lead at the top of the table, but they face an Arsenal side who beat them 5-2 earlier in the campaign.

That was one of just two league defeats this term for the Foxes, but with confidence sky high and their football reaching new levels, Kanté and company will be targeting victory in Sunday’s early kick off.

Talk outside of the Club has centred on what exactly the Foxes can achieve if they do maintain their incredible form, but Kanté knows exactly where the focus of those inside the camp lies.

“The feeling at the moment is like it is for every game – we are focused and we are trying to give our best,” he told Foxes Player HD. “Nothing is done yet. We are only in a good position, but the league is not finished and we have to keep going.

“The manager gives me advice and tries to make me improve. I listen to him and I try to give my best. “I think it’s an important game for us and for them (Arsenal). I hope it will be a good game but the pressure is on both teams I think. For us it’s always the same. We try to give our best and if we can win, we try to win and that’s our goal.”

Arsenal’s squad boasts an array of talent, perhaps none more so than Mesut Ozil – the German midfielder who has a stunning 16 assists to his name in the league this term.

While Kanté admits he’s wary of his threat, he knows that the only way the Foxes will be successful is if they continue to focus on things as a collective, not as individuals.

On Ozil’s threat, he added: “For me he’s a very good player. I played against him in the first game and I saw then that he was a very good player, but we are a team against Arsenal and it’s the whole team – not just Ozil. We will try to give our best.

“The way we stop Mesut Ozil is as a team. He’s a good player but only as a team can we stop him. “When I was younger I did follow Arsenal in the Champions League and the Premier League because a lot of their players were French. Now I play against them, it’s a really good feeling.

“We are top of the league. We hope to continue in this way and we believe we can.”
