Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri says Andy King will bring a different dimension to his side for Tuesday night’s visit of West Bromwich Albion.
King is set to replace the injured N’Golo Kanté in City’s midfield, as the Foxes look to increase their lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League table.
The Welsh international midfielder will resume a partnership with Danny Drinkwater that served Ranieri extremely well during the early weeks of the season.
And having had to be patient while his teammates maintained a fine recent run of form, Ranieri says King will be ready put his own stamp on proceedings against the Baggies.
He said: “Every time I put King in the squad he is excellent and I’m very confident with him. He has another style of football and he has to do his job, not Kanté’s job.
“I’m very confident because we play with King and King plays very well with Drinkwater.
“N’Golo recovers a lot of balls and is very good for us, but Drinky and Kingy can be the same. They are doing very well.”
Just as they were during Saturday’s win over Norwich City, Leicester will be expected to take the initiative against Tony Pulis’ side and look for the openings to seize control of the game.
But Ranieri knows a dangerous counter-attacking side when he sees one and has warned of the threat posed by Tuesday night’s visitors.
He added: “It’s important to be concentrated and now more because against West Bromwich, we know well they go on the counter attack with [Salomon] Rondon, [Stephane] Sessegnon and [Saido] Berahino.
“They are very dangerous from corners. They’ve scored eight or nine goals from set plays and we must be very, very concentrated. If we take a clean sheet, we can do something good in front.”
