King's Praise For Dominant Foxes

In-form midfielder Andy King has hailed Leicester City’s mettle after they produced a sensational Barclays Premier League performance to beat Swansea City 2-0 at King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Leo Ulloa opened the scoring in the first half before King himself settled nerves with a tap-in near the end – his second goal in as many matches in front of a raucous home crowd.

The Swans are flying high in the table and in search of a new record points total going into the match, but opposition manager Garry Monk conceded that his team were ‘outfought’ over the 90 minutes.

It was a result that gave the Foxes a third consecutive win, and puts them behind the safety of 17th place by goal difference only – meaning there was plenty of encouragement to take for Nigel Pearson’s men.

“It was brilliant,” King told Foxes Player. “From start to finish we dominated the game and probably should have been out of sight earlier than we were, but fair play to the boys, we stuck at it and everyone is buzzing with the win.”

The Swans are one of the best footballing sides in the division, and certainly provided a stern test of City’s desire and quality at King Power Stadium.

King added: “They’re a good side. They probably thought they and half a chance of Europe beforehand, but that’s obviously more difficult now. They’re a top team and they’ve been in the league for a few years with some great players.

“They’re probably one of the standout footballing sides in the league, but we more than matched them. It’s a fully deserved win.”

On his goal, which was his 56th for the Club, King said: “I was delighted to get on the score sheet again, but more to settle the points really, because it could have been nerve-wracking going through to the end.

“We’d missed a lot of chances and we could have put the game to bed, but I was relieved to stick my chance away.”
