Kramaric Display Encourages Pearson

In his first start in a Leicester City shirt against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, new boy Andrej Kramaric did enough to impress manager Nigel Pearson.
The Croatia international proved to be a real handful for the Spurs backline in City’s 2-1 FA Cup victory at White Hart Lane, and were it not for a wonder save from goalkeeper Michel Vorm, could have been celebrating his first Foxes goal.

There was also a case for a penalty on the 23-year-old striker, as Vorm appeared to bring him down inside the area midway through the first half, but the referee didn’t see things the same way.

Regardless, the Foxes got the victory, and Pearson was delighted that his new signing had the opportunity to test himself against top-class opposition before the team get back to Barclays Premier League action at Manchester United on Saturday.

“I think Andrej grew into the game,” Pearson told Foxes Player. “I think he can see that life in English football is that little bit quicker, but I thought he showed some great intelligence and some of his runs were brilliant.

“The run he made for his early chance was fantastic and he’s unlucky not to have won us a penalty.

“It was a great opportunity for him to become a little bit more acclimatised in a game in which, when you look at the priorities of the season, the Premier League is the priority. It gives him a chance to adapt playing against a Premier League side.”
