LCFC Fan Wins Cost Of 2015/16 Season Ticket

- Nigel Wright to donate half of the refund back to Foxes Foundation 

- Foxes Foundation raised over £15,000 from supporters’ donations 

One lucky Leicester City fan has won back the cost of his 2015/16 Season Ticket, thanks to his generosity to the LCFC Foxes Foundation. 

Nigel Wright, 50, was one of thousands of Season Ticket Holders who made a charitable donation to the LCFC Foxes Foundation when he renewed his Season Ticket for the 2015/16 campaign, which automatically entered him into prize draw. 

A fan since the 1970s, Nigel was recently informed that he was in fact the lucky member of the Blue Army that will receive a full refund on his Season Ticket. 

In an act of great generosity, Nigel will donate 50 per cent of the refund back to the LCFC Foxes Foundation, which raised over £15,000 in donations from supporters during the Season Ticket renewal period. 

Nigel said: “When I found out, I was chuffed to bits. I haven’t missed a home or away game for three years now. I’ve been a fan all my life. 

“It’s a great story why I’m a Leicester fan really. I come from a little village called Aldbury in Hertfordshire. When I was a kid, I used to run around on the green and muck about with a football and there was a family who moved into the area from Leicester. 

“Sadly their son died in 1971, and his parents gave me all of his shirts and scarves, so I’ve supported Leicester ever since.” 

The funds raised by the LCFC Foxes Foundation will go directly to its chosen charities for the 2015/16 season – Place2Be, Spark Arts For Children, Royal Voluntary Service, Leicester Hospitals Charity Children’s Appeal, Warning Zone and Once, We Were Soldiers. 

Club Ambassador Alan ‘The Birch’ Birchenall said: “It’s a fantastic gesture by the Club and it just shows how great our fans are that they have donated thousands of pounds to the Foxes Foundation. 

“I think it’s brilliant that Nigel is going to donate half of the refund back to charity too – it encompasses everything that this great football club is about.”
