Liam Moore’s England Shirt Up For Auction!

When Birch noticed Liam’s most prized possession in the kit room at Belvoir Drive, it evoked precious memories of watching the late Three Lions captain Bobby Moore, who led his country to the 1966 World Cup Final victory in his famous No.6 shirt.
Recalling the moment he saw Liam’s top, Birch said: “It brought me back to the days of playing against Bobby Moore when I was in the early stages of my career as a professional footballer.
“He was a top-quality player that everyone thought highly of, even if he did play for West Ham! To see another Moore wearing that red shirt sent shivers down my spine – I’ve got no doubt he’ll go on to win a full international cap.
“When I asked Liam whether we could put his England shirt up for auction, I expected him to say no, but he was more than happy to hand it over so we can auction it off for the Foxes Foundation – I’d like to personally thank him for his generosity.”
All proceeds will go to the and their chosen charities for the 2014/15 season – something which Liam was more than happy to help out with.
“My England shirt means a lot to me having scored my first goal in it for my country,” said the young defender. “But I don’t mind giving it to the Foxes Foundation.
“They work extremely hard to raise money for those who need it most. I hope the person who wins the shirt values it as much as I do – I might even have to bid on it myself!”
