Loan Round-Up: Five Foxes In Action

There were five Leicester City loan stars in action across four tiers of English football this weekend.

Development Squad defender Callum Elder notched up another 90 minutes for Mansfield Town in their 4-1 League 2 defeat to York City.
A double from Shaquile Coulthirst and strikes from Keith Lowe and Jake Hyde helped 10-man York secure three points, while Matt Rhead replied for the Stags.
Elder could again be involved when Mansfield travel to Southend United in the league on Friday.
Under-21s midfielder Michael Cain made his 30th appearance for Walsall on Saturday after coming on as a substitute on 63 minutes in the 1-0 League 1 loss at Chesterfield.
Spireites defender Sam Hird netted with just four minutes to go to seal the triumph for his side, but Cain’s Saddlers could bounce back on Friday when they host Notts County in the league.
Meanwhile, defender Hervé Pepe-Ngoma played 90 minutes in Corby Town’s 2-2 Evo Stik South draw with Dorchester Town.
Forward Greg Mills scored twice for Ngoma’s outfit, while Mark Irvine and Lewis Morgan found the back of the net for Dorchester.
Corby next face Poole Town in the second leg of the Red Insure Cup Final on Tuesday, following a 1-1 first leg draw on Wednesday 18 March.
Winger Adam Dawson made another appearance for Bristol Rovers on Saturday, helping his side to a 0-0 Vanarama Conference draw with Macclesfield Town.
Dawson came on with 21 minutes to play, but Rovers couldn’t break down a solid Macclesfield defence, and in turn dropped to third in the table.
Under-21s right-back James Pearson was an unused substitute in Peterborough United’s 1-0 loss to Coventry City on Saturday.
Blair Turgott’s solitary strike on 70 minutes was enough to seal a victory for Tony Mowbray’s men against the Posh.
Pearson could make his Peterborough debut on Friday when they take on Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.
Meanwhile, youngsters Jacob Blyth (Burton Albion) and Marcel Barrington (Bishop’s Stortford) were not in action for their loan clubs at the weekend.
City midfielder Paul Gallagher made his 48th appearance of the 2014/15 season for Preston North End on Saturday, playing 89 minutes in 1-1 League 1 draw with Fleetwood Town.
Daniel Johnson scored after just nine minutes for the Lilywhites, but a superb chip from David Ball secured a point for Fleetwood.
Gallagher could next be involved on Friday when Preston host Rochdale, again in League 1.
Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s Millwall were not in action at the weekend due to the international break, but the midfielder will hope to be involved when his side face Charlton Athletic in the Championship on Friday.
