This weekend saw a total of five Leicester City loan stars take to the pitch across three tiers of English football.

Development Squad defender Callum Elder continued his productive loan spell at Peterborough United as he helped his side to a 5-3 League 1 win over Millwall on Saturday.

Elder notched up another 90 minutes for Peterborough, who moved to 12th in the table thanks to a double from Jon Taylor and strikes from Lee Angol, Chris Forrester and Conor Washington.

The Australian youth international left back could make his ninth appearance for Peterborough on Saturday 10 October when they head to Swindon Town in League 1.

There was a ninth Northampton Town appearance for talented midfielder Ryan Watson on Saturday as he helped the Cobblers to a 3-2 League 2 win at Wycombe Wanderers.

Watson came off the bench with 13 minutes to play as Northampton extended their unbeaten run to four games thanks to strikes from Marc Richards, Lawson D’Ath and Shaun Brisley.

Watson could notch up some more valuable game time this evening as Northampton travel to Millwall in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Young winger Jack Barmby made his third appearance for Notts County in their defeat to Leyton Orient on Saturday in League 1.

The wideman played 90 minutes in the 3-1 loss as a double from Sammy Moore and a strike from Jay Simpson saw the hosts earn all three points.

Barmby could again be involved for Ricardo Moniz’s side this evening as they take on Sheffield United in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Wales international forward Tom Lawrence helped Blackburn Rovers extend their unbeaten run to four games with a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

Lawrence, who netted his first goal for Blackburn against Charlton Athletic last month, notched up 90 minutes as a brace from Jordan Rhodes secured the win at Ewood Park.

The youngster could make his seventh appearance for Blackburn on Saturday 17 October when his side travel to Milton Keynes Dons.

Left back Paul Konchesky, currently on a season-long loan at Queens Park Rangers, rounded off City’s loan action on Saturday as he helped the Rs to a 4-3 Championship triumph over Bolton Wanderers.

Chris Ramsey’s men recovered from two goals down to beat Bolton as a brace from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and efforts from Leroy Fer and Tjaronn Chery secured the win.

Konchesky could be involved again on Saturday 17 October when QPR take on Birmingham City in the Championship at St. Andrew’s.
