Development Squad midfielder Jak McCourt was the latest of Leicester City’s loan stars to shine on Wednesday as he made his debut for Port Vale.

The central midfielder, on loan at the Staffordshire-based outfit for a month, played 90 minutes in his first appearance for Vale, who went on to beat Carlisle United 1-0 in the first round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Fellow City youngster Ryan Watson was also on song on Tuesday evening in the same competition as he rattled in a fine strike from distance in Northampton Town’s 3-2 victory over Colchester United.

Watson, who joined the Cobblers on loan until January last month, took his appearance total to four for his new side having also played against Plymouth Argyle, Newcastle United and Accrington Stanley.

Under-21s defender Callum Elder, currently on a one-month loan deal at Peterborough United, notched up another 90 minutes in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday evening having made his debut in League 1 against Gillingham on Saturday.

The versatile Australian youth international left back’s side were beaten 1-0 by Millwall as Shaun Williams fired in a 90th-minute winner.

Lithuania international striker Simonas Stankevicius was also in action on Saturday, coming off the bench to make his first appearance in his loan spell at Oldham Athletic.

The powerful frontman saw his new side earn a 1-1 draw in League 1 at Bury, and now reports for his nation for their fixtures against Slovenia and San Marino.

Fellow Foxes youngster Jacob Blyth made his debut for Cambridge United in mid-August and has since gone on to make another two appearances for the club.

A goalless draw at Barnet in League 2 on Saturday was followed by a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge on Tuesday.

While young forward Tom Lawrence was an unused substitute in Blackburn Rovers’ 0-0 draw with Bolton in the Championship on Friday, defender Paul Konchesky notched up his fifth appearance for Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Konchesky, currently on loan at the Championship outfit for the 2015/16 season, played 90 minutes in his side’s 1-0 league win at Huddersfield Town.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ben Hamer went on to make his fifth appearance for Bristol City in their 2-1 Championship defeat to Burnley on Saturday before Liam Moore also linked up with Steve Cotterill’s outfit on loan earlier this week.
