Moore: Great To Be Back

After a busy summer for Liam Moore, the defender shared his delight at linking up with the Leicester City squad at their pre-season training camp in Austria.

- City defender feels he has learnt a lot from his international involvement with England Under-21s

The Academy graduate made 14 appearances for the Foxes in 2014/15, before completing a loan spell at Championship outfit Brentford.

Next for the young centre back was the European U21 Championship Finals in June, where he represented England on two occasions – something which Moore believes has helped to maintain his fitness levels over the summer.

He told Foxes Player HD: “I had the Euros with England Under-21s and although my summer finished really late, it’s great to be back in amongst all the lads and come back with a good baseline fitness.

“I can come back in and crack on. I was advised to take it easy but I thought it was really important to get involved.”

The experience of playing for England in a major European competition is something that Moore says he will savour, having performed alongside some of his nation’s most talented youngsters.

Hoping to apply what he has learnt from that experience in the upcoming season, Moore added: “You’re away with the lads for a long period of time and the preparation is first class. You play with some really good players.

“It didn’t really work out the way we wanted it to as we saw ourselves going far in the tournament, but the experience will stand me in good stead for the season.”
