Defender Liam Moore says Leicester City must continue to show the same resilience as they did against Birmingham City on Saturday during their 2015/16 Barclays Premier League season.

The Foxes concluded their pre-season schedule with a victory at St. Andrew’s, but it wasn’t straightforward for Claudio Ranieri’s men.

Two stunning goals from David Cotterill and Demarai Gray gave hosts a 2-0 lead, with the first a sensational 25-yard free kick, and the second a superb solo effort.

But a spirited second half comeback, in which Moore came on at half-time, saw the Foxes turn the game on its head with goals from Robert Huth, Danny Drinkwater and Shinji Okazaki, eventually running out 3-2 winners.

Moore said: “I thought we started off really well. Then they scored a couple of worldy goals, but that happens. We had to brush ourselves down. It took us a good 15 minutes to get going after that. It was disheartening. In the second half, we came out firing and showed what we're all about.

"It's important because there are going to be stages in the season where we go a goal or two down. The gaffer has made it clear it's all about fighting until the end and, if we show that kind of character through the season, we'll be in a good place."

City kick-off their 2015/16 Barclays Premier League season against Sunderland at King Power Stadium on Saturday 8 August – a game that Moore says his side are fully geared up for.

He added: "I'd say we are ready. It's all about peaking at the right time. I think the players that needed the minutes against Birmingham got them.

"We'll have an intense week this week and then probably start to slow down towards the end of the week. We'll be fully firing come Saturday."
