Morgan Has That Winning Feeling
It was a key result in the battle for top-flight survival and a stunning fourth straight win for the Foxes to lift them out of the bottom three by one priceless point.
City were certainly made to work hard for the win, and speaking to Foxes Player afterwards, Morgan said: “I can’t describe the feeling. To get another win means that’s four games in-a-row. It’s unbelievable to say that we’ve gone this entire season without picking up many points, then we’ve got four back-to-back.
“Everyone in the changing room is ecstatic really. We just want to keep it going.”
If the Foxes had been defeated, Burnley would have leapfrogged them in the table, but the win now sees City five points clear of Sean Dyche’s bottom-placed side – an indication of just how much was riding on the fixture.
“It reminded me a bit of a Championship game,” Morgan added. “Everyone was getting stuck in. There wasn’t much football being played and it was down to the percentages really.
“There were lots of chances, people coming off injured and people putting their heads where it hurts. It meant so much to both teams. We’re fighting for our lives, so to come away as the victors, I can’t describe how good that feeling is.”
But he was quick to add that despite the feeling of elation, the win-at-all-costs approach remains strong in the camp with safety far from secure.
“We’ve come this far,” said Morgan. “We’ve got all these points and we don’t want to waste them. We’ve still got work to do and a good few games where we’re looking to get maximum points to steer ourselves clear of relegation. We’re not clear yet but we’re on a good run and we want to keep it going.”
