Ndukwu & England U17s Into Euro Quarter-Finals

Leicester City Under-18s forward Layton Ndukwu helped England Under-17s advance to the quarter finals of the UEFA European U17 Championships after another successful qualification campaign.
The young Fox was involved in all three of England’s Group D fixtures, first playing 40 minutes in the opening fixture against Italy in Burgas, Bulgaria last Thursday.

Next, Ndukwu played just under half an hour in the 1-1 draw with Holland in Stara Zagara on Sunday, before another 40 minutes on the same soil for the young Lions on Wednesday evening in the 1-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland.

It followed several impressive performances in an England shirt from Ndukwu, who scored a hat-trick for John Peacock’s side in October against Cyprus before scoring in the win over Norway in March.

Now, the youngster and his nation have two days to recover before they again travel to Burgas to face Russia in the quarter-finals of the competition on Saturday 16 May (4pm kick-off).
