No Chelsea Fears For Drinkwater
With no other games taking place on Wednesday night and the Foxes having played a game fewer than both Queens Park Rangers and Burnley below them, any kind of result would provide them yet another boost in the battle for survival.
And Drinkwater sees no reason why they can’t secure just that. He told Foxes Player: “We can try and make it five wins, there’s no doubt about that. Every point that we collect is massive. The longer we stay out of the relegation zone the better. That’s key for us and it’s key for us keeping our confidence going into every game. If we can then I’m sure we’ll be fine.
“Why should we fear them? We’ve got nothing to lose and it’s just about putting our stamp on the game.
“It’s been good to get back in there (the team) recently, but if I have to take time off the pitch, then I’ll do it and try to keep my head as best I can for the team.
“As long as I’m training properly and doing what I can on the training pitch, then hopefully like against Burnley, when the day comes when I am starting then I can do a job for the team.”
Another raucous atmosphere is sure to be in store for Chelsea when they arrive at King Power Stadium, and like many of his team-mates, Drinkwater was keen not to underplay just how important a role the Leicester City fans have to play.
He said: “The fans are massive. I’ve said it in the past and I’m sure a lot of players have, they’re like an extra man sometimes.
“In the last home game it was one of the best atmospheres I’ve ever been involved in. The away fans again were brilliant at West Brom and Burnley too and if they can keep getting behind us like that, then it’s great for us.”
