No Time To Reflect For Ranieri
- The Foxes sit top of the Barclays Premier League table ahead of Saturday’s encounter at Manchester City
- Ranieri praised the displays of Kasper Schmeichel, who has helped City record five clean sheets in their last six Premier League games
While Leicester City continue to dominate the headlines thanks to their enthralling Barclays Premier League season, manager Claudio Ranieri says now is not the time to reflect on their performances.
Few could have predicted that Ranieri’s Foxes would be sitting top of the table with just 14 games of the 2015/16 campaign to play.
It has been a season that has captured the attention of many football fans across the globe, but Ranieri and his men will not be wavered by the potential of achieving something remarkable.
The City boss said: “When you are involved in this exciting moment, you don’t think. You try to continue. You don’t try to change something.
“Maybe in this summer and we’re on holiday, what a fantastic job we did. But now we are pushing, we are working.
“Our fans are enjoying and everybody in England are enjoying what happened in Leicester – that’s good. We are focused.”
The Foxes have recorded five clean sheets in their last six Barclays Premier League games, all thanks to some excellent defensive performances.
One man also in fine form has been shot-stopper Kasper Schmeichel, whose displays haven't gone unnoticed after he was nominated for January’s Player of the Month award.
He said: “Yes we are very happy with the performance of Kasper [Schmeichel]. All the team-mates, me and all the staff are very sure, very calm because he’s doing a fantastic season.
“It’s important because he’s in good condition now. Maybe on Saturday he will have a lot to do because there are some fantastic players.”
