Pearson Credits Cambiasso Commitment

The Foxes face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday and could move off the foot of the table for the first time since November with a win.
For Pearson, Cambiasso’s influence since signing on a free transfer in August 2014 has been invaluable to the squad, and insists that the Argentine is maintaining his high standards both on and off the pitch.
Pearson said: “He’s been very positive. You could argue that it’s a unique experience for him. As you find with most players at that level, they have a mentality that can deal with that.
“He’ll be absolutely focused and determined to come out of this with a positive outcome. He’s committed to us achieving what looks like a very difficult task at the moment in avoiding relegation.
“That says a lot about his character and desire to play at the best level he can for us. I’m very pleased to have him.
“He trains with the same standards as he plays. That’s a quality which is very easily underplayed. It’s important that players set very high standards. He’s a player who continually does that.”
Cambiasso is one of a number of senior players that Pearson believes have been integral in keeping the dressing room positive, especially during the tough run of results the Foxes find themselves on.
“Senior players are very important,” added Pearson. “They’re all different, I’m not suggesting that they’ve all got to be the same, but they have to manage the dressing room to a certain extent.
“It always helps if you’ve got players who set high standards rather than us accepting mediocrity. Whatever happens this season, we’ll strive to be as good as we can be. Whether it’s good enough or not is for other people to judge.
“Players are given a certain amount of ability, if you have everybody striving to maximise what they’ve got individually, you’ve got a better chance of achieving.”
