Pearson Looking To 2015/16 Season

The experience of a challenging season in the Barclays Premier League can hold Leicester City in good stead for the new campaign, according to manager Nigel Pearson.
After shrugging off a difficult spell of results, the squad embarked upon a remarkable run of form that was unprecedented for Leicester City in the Premier League era to secure safety.

It’s fair to say they’ve now experienced a tough top-flight campaign and have a better idea of what it takes to succeed – something that the manager is keen for them to bank on going into the 2015/16 campaign.

“We have to build on what we already have,” Pearson told Foxes Player. “Clearly we’ve been able to perform. In our last nine games we’ve won seven and drawn one, so we’ve performed very well, but it’s been a situation in which we’ve had to produce performances.

“What we need to do is have a bit more consistency around our ability to gain results because what’s happened this year had to be unique.

“You wouldn’t want to be banking on that every time, so we’re well aware of where we’ve needed to improve but as I’ve said throughout the season, even in our darkest days there have been positives for us to at least build on.

“It’s kept the belief among the players and fans alike, so that’s important to recognise. It’s time to take stock I think and hopefully we’ll be even better prepared next season and more capable.

“That’s because we’ve had a year’s experience and we’ll try to add to the squad too.”
