Pearson Without Two More For Hull

Ahead of another crunch Barclays Premier League clash, Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson says he will be without two more key players when they travel to Hull City on Sunday.

Jamie Vardy picked up his fifth booking of the season for a challenge on goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the , and will serve a one-match suspension.
Meanwhile, midfielder Andy King had to be replaced at half-time in the loss to Spurs after picking up a knock in the first half, adding to the injuries of Kasper Schmeichel and Zoumana Bakayogo.
“Vardy will be suspended because unfortunately his booking for being committed to try and win the ball will take him to five [for the season],” said Pearson.
“Andy King came off injured at half-time, so there’s two changes. Outside of that, we’ll see how they are when they come in to warm down and get prepared to travel to Hull.
“Whenever you’ve got as many games in quick succession as you have in this Christmas period, most managers are mindful of the fact that there’s got to be a little bit of change in terms of personnel.
“The two that I’ve just spoken about there are ones that maybe I wouldn’t have been thinking about [changing] but that’s exactly the point of having a squad and being able to be flexible enough to deal with situations as they come around.
“Injuries and suspensions are a part and parcel of footballing seasons, so we’ll have to deal with them.”
in a bid to end a 13-game winless run, while Hull halted a 10-game winless streak of their own with a 3-1 triumph over Sunderland on Boxing Day.
Admiring the work that manager Steve Bruce has done for the Tigers, Pearson cited a shift in expectations for the opposition’s recent results.
He added: “I’ve got an awful lot of respect for Steve. I think he’s a manager who’s very well respected within the game.
“It’s never easy to re-establish a side in the Premier League. You can look at teams in different ways. Ultimately it’s about being able to sustain a period in the Premier League.
“Steve will be well aware of what his side are capable of. What he’s not in control of is the shift in expectations. He’s a very experienced man who knows the limitations and strengths of his squad.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for him and the job that he’s done. He’s done very good jobs at all the clubs he’s been at.”
