Pearson: Perform To Our Maximum

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has called for his side to improve their home form heading into their Barclays Premier League clash with West Ham United at King Power Stadium on Saturday.

The Foxes next entertain the Hammers knowing a win could move them off the bottom of the table for the first time since November.
With six of City’s remaining nine games coming at home, the emphasis on winning points lies firmly at King Power Stadium, but Pearson believes getting positive results on the road will also be important.
Pearson said: “When you look at our performances so far this season, the fact that we’ve not been more successful at home is a disappointment and I think a surprise to a lot of people.
“Most of the time I could talk about very positive performances. Again, it’s not something that we fear going into the last run of games. We know that if we perform to our maximum at home, we’ve got chances in those games.
“Even though we’ve still got to play Chelsea at home, we’ve still got a game that we are looking forward to, and of course our away games are going to be very important as well.”
While City occupy bottom spot, they still have to face four of the bottom seven teams in the league, with fixtures against West Bromwich Albion, Burnley, Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers to come.
“When you’re playing against sides who potentially you’re able to drag into the situation, and one or two are very much still in the relegation fight, that again gives you a different type of motivation,” Pearson added.
“The Spurs result was very difficult to take given the context of how we played against them. We certainly deserved something out of the game. It’s a case of us continuing to be positive as much as anything.”
