Pearson: Spurs Strong Regardless

Possessing a seasoned international spine of Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Roberto Soldado, Spurs come to King Power Stadium on the back of a three-game winning streak, seeing off Swansea, Newcastle and Burnley in succession.
Also catching the eye of Pearson is former Fox Harry Kane, who played under the City manager in 2013, having scored 14 goals already this campaign.
“It’s always difficult for clubs with really high expectations,” said Pearson. “I’m not going to talk about money being spent. They have a good squad and have changed managers.
“It always take a little bit of time. They have a lot of options and we see how well Harry Kane has done there this season in particular. With a European campaign as well it’s given them an opportunity to look at different options.
“They come into this game with the ability to make a number of changes and not necessarily weaken their side. Does that change our approach? It fundamentally can’t really.
“We have an idea how they’ll play but in terms of the personnel they have on the day that remains to be seen. We can make predictions as to how we feel how they will line up but ultimately, whoever they pick they have plenty of options at their disposal.”
Insisting the onus is on his side to turn things around, Pearson will be looking to the performance of his players to end the tough run that they have endured.
He added: “The emphasis on our own game is to get our performance as good as it can be. That always has to be the starting point for us as well as having an understanding of any potential weaknesses of our opponents.
“We’ve got to make sure we give a good account of ourselves knowing we’re coming up against a good side. They come to our place so it’s important we set the scene as well as we can on the day.”
