Pearson: We Can Turn It Around

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson described the Barclays Premier League as ‘relentlessly unforgiving’ after his side were unable to turn performances into points against West Ham United.
In a game that ended 2-0 to the hosts at Upton Park thanks to goals from Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing, the Foxes went unrewarded for their endeavour as their winless run stretched to 12 games.

Two excellent late stops from Hammers ‘keeper Adrian to deny David Nugent and Leo Ulloa the chance to salvage something, but with plenty of games coming up over Christmas, the manager is keen to see his side’s point tally match the performances.

“It’s still very much in our hands and we can turn it around,” Pearson told LCFC.com. “We are capable of doing it. I’m not one for going along with the view that we’ve put ourselves in such a difficult position that it’s irretrievable. I think it is.

“The performances probably don’t reflect the points that we’ve collected. That is the difference between this league and any other, it is relentlessly unforgiving. We’ve found that to our own expense but we’ll keep working hard.

“The run that we’re in, it’s such a poor run for us in terms of the points that we’ve dropped or lost. However you want to put it, we’ve just not collected enough points and we’ve got to start doing it pretty sharpish.”
