Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri believes Barclays Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy will be fit to face Manchester United on Saturday.

Vardy scored for a 10th consecutive Premier League game in the 3-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend, before being replaced by Andy King at St. James’ Park with just over 10 minutes to play.

City’s No.9 has lit up the league with 13 goals in 13 games this season, and Ranieri believes the England international striker will be fit to face Louis Van Gaal’s men on Saturday at King Power Stadium.

Matty James is set to be City’s only injury absentee. The midfielder continues to participate in light training following his knee injury against Southampton back in May.

Ranieri said of Vardy: “He’s fit of course. We manage him in a different way. He’s also under the hands of our physio.

“We speak every morning about what the best training session is for him, but he is fit. Everybody else is okay.

“I think his mind is 100 per cent. He’s always fit, always. Always 100 per cent.”
