Simpson: We've Turned A Corner

Now with a tough test against Manchester City beckoning, the Foxes urgently need their good performances to yield some points as they look to close the gap between themselves and 17th. 

Alongside the Everton display, City’s performance against Arsenal recently drew plaudits from many quarters despite defeat, something that has become all too familiar this season. 

“He’s (Nigel Pearson) probably tired of coming off at 90 minutes and hearing the opposition manager saying he was unlucky,” Simpson told Foxes Player. 

“You don’t want to be unlucky, you want to win. We want to play good football and put in good performances, but it’s getting to that time now where we need more to win and put points on the board. 

“But I think, going back to the Everton game, there have been games like that this season where we would have lost. Hopefully it’s a turning point. 

“You get a point at Everton away, which is a good point and Goodison is a tough place to go, and you had three points with a few minutes to go, but they score. It felt like a loss afterwards in the dressing room. 

“On the other side, if you are 2-1 down in the last few minutes and you draw 2-2, then it’s still a point and you’d feel like you’ve won. 

“It was a boost for us to know that we can go away from home against big teams, perform and know that we can win. 

“We were close to winning. It’s no different going to Manchester City. The manager wants us to win every game and this will be the same.”
