While it’s been difficult to adjust to the weather, it’s been really good and I think we’re all used to the humidity now after two training sessions and our three games today, especially the 3-0 win over Singapore – I thought we were very good in that game.
In the first game against HKFA U21, we were a little nervy and wanted to get into it, but the second game was a lot better because everyone went into it feeling confident that we can get the win and we did. Our third
game against West Ham was tough, but we can definitely take positives from that. Hopefully, tomorrow we’ll learn from it in our game against Wellington Pheonix.
We’re in the quarter-finals and it’s great. I’ve really enjoyed being away with all the lads and it’s been a really good step up for me coming into this group. It’s physically more demanding and the pace is higher, but it’s been a good challenge and I feel it’s helped me progress. It’s a been a brilliant tournament so far and we’re keen to show what we can do in our next game. I normally play quite central, but my role so far has been out wide and I think I’ve managed to deal with it quite well.
In seven-a-side football, a lot of the time you find yourself out of position quite a lot anyway so you have to get up and down the pitch as quick as possible. It’s very different to 11-a-side games but we’re all confident and we’re hoping to build on today’s results.
