Striker A Doubt For Pearson

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson could be a striker short for the FA Cup Fourth Round trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The Foxes boss revealed that New Zealand international Chris Wood injured his ankle in training on Thursday and will have to be assessed ahead of the clash.
However, Pearson could welcome back midfielders Esteban Cambiasso and Dean Hammond, who have trained this week, while Matty James serves the second of his three-game suspension.
Pearson said: “Chris Wood has had a bit of an ankle problem this morning (Thursday) so we’ll see how he is and whether he makes the squad for the weekend.
“Cambiasso and Hammond have been training this week so they’re in contention. Obviously Matty James is out with suspension.
“We’re making progress so it’s really the players who were unavailable through injury as we were before, with the likes of Kasper [Schmeichel] and Matt Upson. Matt’s training with us now. For the most part, we’re getting back to having a pretty fit squad.”
Striker Andrej Kramarić could make his first start for Pearson’s side having made his first appearance as a substitute in the last weekend, while Mark Schwarzer could make his debut for the Club.
“We’ve got a few things to consider with Saturday’s game in mind,” Pearson added. “Of course it’s a good opportunity for them (Kramarić and Schwarzer) to be in with a shout of starting.
“Whether they will or not, we’ll have to wait and see. It’s a good opportunity for us to get some match exposure to one or two other players as well. “It’s important for us to pick a side that’s capable of winning the tie.”
