The Friday Interview continues to bring you behind the scenes insights from the characters that make up your Football Club, and this week it’s the turn of long-serving Head Physiotherapist Dave Rennie.

Foxes Player HD’s cameras set up inside the medical room at Leicester City’s Belvoir Drive Training Facility to gain a better insight into the vital role he has performed for more than 16 years.

From treating players on the pitch, rehabilitating injuries and nursing Alan Birchenall through his end of season charity runs, it’s all in there as Dave discusses how his own role and the industry have developed in his 16 years.

Dave has worked under 13 permanent managers in his time at Leicester City and has helped to oversee a transformation that sees both the department and facilities at the Club almost unrecognisable from the one he joined.

<div ><br /><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>He told Foxes Player HD:</strong><em>“When I first came in, what's now the gym was initially a full sized tennis court in there. Steve Walford and John Robertson, that was their terrain and they went to played tennis after training. There wasn’t a bespoke gym facility like there is today. From an equipment standpoint things have changed dramatically.” </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">One thing that hasn’t changed in that time is the sight of Dave sprinting onto the pitch on matchdays to treat the Leicester City players, although he insists he’s no Jamie Vardy when it comes to pace. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>He added:</strong><em>“First thing’s first, it’s been a few years since I’ve sprinted anywhere really, apart from to the local! Generally speaking, once you get onto the field of play, you’ve seen the incident so it makes things a little bit easier so you’ve got an idea as to which joint or muscle group that’s particularly injured, then you’ve already got the relationship with the player. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“It’s very low key if I’m honest. It’s very rare that you have a neck trauma like the guys are treating at the Rugby World Cup at the moment. So it’s very low key, it’s just a chat about what the player has felt, where the discomfort is and then whether we feel like doing any stability tests. But generally speaking it’s usually the player and your relationship with the player that determines whether they stay on the field or not.” </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Watch the full interview with Dave, only on <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/0a34a105-df3f-449b-be4a-b0f365608f5d" target="_blank">Foxes Player HD</a>.</strong></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">So far in the series we’ve told the stories of characters including Alan Smith, Muzzy Izzet, Andy King, Danny Drinkwater and Alan Birchenall – all of which are available to watch online at <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com" target="_blank">www.player.lcfc.com</a>. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>PREVIOUS EPISODES </strong></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 1 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/4c651083-f945-4657-90eb-2741021c3bcb" target="_blank">Andy King</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 2 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/6c15f28f-fb5a-40fc-9c61-9d2d7bbfed9a">Danny Drinkwater</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 3 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/ad13db34-fe4c-4f68-93ab-5304dac46977" target="_blank">Alan Birchenall</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 4 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/7e8a8fd6-a96e-4ce3-9a52-a44a3d4f2c50" target="_blank">Muzzy Izzet</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 5 - <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/043602f8-8f1e-4df1-8836-e3d12efa6b8d" target="_blank">John Ledwidge</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 6 - <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/b9213377-70e7-4e75-86c4-6be4932ba638" target="_blank">Wes Morgan</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 7 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/e2949f03-6836-453d-8296-72ef11734072" target="_blank">Alan Smith</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 8 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/0a34a105-df3f-449b-be4a-b0f365608f5d" target="_blank">Dave Rennie</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The Friday Interview will be aired every Friday afternoon, with the full version of every interview available ONLY to Foxes Player HD subscribers.</span></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com" target="_blank"><img xlink:href="tcm:0-2692753" title="PlayerHD2015_Banner" alt="PlayerHD2015_Banner" style="width: 480px; height: 100px;" /></a><br /></span></span></div></div>
