Leicester City’s Under-18s struck with a minute to play to register their third win in four Barclays U18 Premier League fixtures at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

The young Foxes sealed all three points to move second in the table thanks to Kairo Mitchell’s 89th-minute winner in London.

Trevor Peake’s outfit have started the 2015/16 in superb fashion, losing just once in their opening 11 games, leaving their quest for a top-four finish firmly on course.

The trip to Spurs proved to be City’s third consecutive away game having fought back from two goals down in the Capital against Arsenal earlier this month, before beating Aston Villa at Bodymoor Heath last time out.

Spurs started with real intent on Saturday as Charlie Owens, Christian Maghoma and Samuel Shashoua all had opportunities to break the deadlock.

Leicester responded well and only Tottenham shot-stopper Harry Voss would deny striker Admiral Muskwe his 13th goal of the season, before Michael Kelly also went close with a free kick.

Josh Eppiah and Josh Knight then both went close for the young Foxes, while at the other end, Max Bramley was on hand to tip over Shashoua’s strike.

City defender Alex Pascanu was on hand shortly after as he cleared an effort from the lively Shashoua off the line, before Leicester finally breached the Spurs defence with a minute to play.

Eppiah picked up the ball, raced past defender George Marsh and forced Voss into a good stop, but Mitchell pounced on the rebound and tapped in to secure all three points for his side.

The Club’s Under-18s are now just two points off league-leaders Chelsea and next take on Swansea City – a side that Leicester beat 2-1 on the opening day of the U18 Premier League – at Belvoir Drive on Saturday 31 October (12pm kick-off).

CITY: Bramley, Percival, Knight, Pascanu, Kelly, Templeton, Fura, Dewsbury-Hall, Eppiah, Mitchell, Muskwe
