U21s Handed Manchester United Opener
That means City’s young stars are once again set to compete against the best young players in the English game and will be keen to build on last year’s impressive campaign.
The U21 Premier League sees 24 teams compete across a two-tier league system – with City achieving a top six finish last term to cement their place in the elite league. It was a highly competitive and tight season, with Steve Beaglehole’s side putting in a late title charge.
Manchester United eventually clinched first place ahead of Liverpool, but the Foxes will have an early chance test their title credentials in front of the home fans at King Power Stadium on Monday 10 August.
Alongside the league competition, the young Foxes will also compete in the U21 Premier League Cup and the U21 International Cup, the latter of which they reached the semi-finals of last season before losing to eventual winners Manchester City.
