U21s Preview: Chelsea vs. Leicester City

Read a match preview on the Barclays U21 Premier League fixture between Chelsea and Leicester City at Cobham training ground on Friday 6 March, 2015 (7pm kick-off).

Leicester City’s Development Squad will head to London for the second time in six days when they take on Chelsea in the Barclays U21 Premier League on Friday evening.
Steve Beaglehole’s side recorded a fine victory over Fulham last weekend thanks to goals from Jak McCourt, Harry Panayiotou and Anthony Knockaert.
That result made it five games unbeaten in all competitions for City – a run which included victories over Everton and Manchester City.
City have already met Chelsea on one occasion this season when Gary Taylor-Fletcher cancelled out Isaiah Brown’s strike in a 1-1 draw at King Power Stadium back in September.

Chelsea's Under-21s will look to put to an end a run of three straight defeats in all competitions when they host Leicester at their Cobham training ground on Friday.
League defeats away to Manchester United and Liverpool came either side of a seven-goal Premier League International Cup Quarter-Finals thriller with Fulham.
Chelsea came from behind on two separate occasions against their London rivals, but Fulham’s Adam Taggart struck eight minutes from time to secure the win for the Cottagers.
Currently fourth in the U21 Premier League, Chelsea could move top of the table above league-leaders Manchester United with three points against the Foxes.

Jak McCourt got his side off to a fantastic start against Fulham last time out, curling in a sweet 20-yard strike with just six minutes on the clock.
The dynamic central-midfielder has played a key role for Steve Beaglehole’s outfit in their 2014/15 campaign, also netting in the 6-2 league win over Manchester City back in October.
McCourt, 19, tasted the rigours of professional football after playing for then League 2 outfit Torquay United back in the 2013/14 season.
Known as a specialist of set-plays, McCourt’s keen eye for goal will be something Chelsea’s defence must look to quash on Friday evening.
Please note that this fixture is being played behind closed doors and is not open to the general public.
