U21s Preview: Leicester City vs. West Ham United

Read a match preview on the Barclays U21 Premier League fixture between Leicester City and West Ham United at King Power Stadium on Monday 18 May, 2015 (2pm kick-off).

Leicester City’s Development Squad will conclude their 2014/15 Barclays U21 Premier League season when they host West Ham United at King Power Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Steve Beaglehole’s outfit will hope to finish what has been a fine campaign on a high, having put in some exceptional performances in the league, as well as making it to the semi-finals of the Premier League International Cup.

The Foxes have lost just three times in their last 12 league fixtures in what has been a fantastic run of form, and haven’t been beaten at King Power Stadium since the 2-0 defeat to Fulham back in September.

Currently eighth in the U21 Premier League, City could finish the 2014/15 campaign as high as fifth in the table with a victory.

West Ham United head into the fixture bottom of the U21 Premier League, despite beating 2013/14 champions Chelsea last time out.

An injury time penalty from Josh Cullen secured a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in a fiercely-contested London derby.

The Hammers have already proved their worth against the Foxes this campaign, beating them 1-0 at Rush Green in early January.

Winning two out of their last three fixtures, West Ham are certain to provide City with a tough challenge when they come to King Power Stadium on Monday.

Striker Harry Panayiotou is without doubt the man to look out for when West Ham come to King Power Stadium on Monday.

The clinical frontman has made 19 appearances for the Development Squad this season, netting 11 goals in 10 games in between February and April, securing himself March's U21 Premier League Player of the Month award in the process.

Panayiotou also became the first ever Leicester City player to score an international hat-trick in that space of time, firing in a treble for St. Kitts and Nevis in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in March.

Earning another call-up for his nation this summer, Panayiotou will certainly be hoping to end what has been a fantastic season on a high when his side face West Ham on Monday.
