Ulloa Enters LCFC History Books

Leonardo Ulloa’s 11 2014/15 league goals saw him become only the sixth Leicester City player to score over 10 Barclays Premier League goals in a single season.

The Argentine striker got off to a superb start in his debut season for Nigel Pearson’s men, netting against Everton on the opening day of the campaign.
An equaliser against Arsenal two weeks later was swiftly followed by the winning goal at Stoke City in mid-September, before a double in the memorable 5-3 victory against Manchester United took his total to five goals in his first five games in a Leicester shirt.
Ulloa’s strikes against Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur in December came before two goals in the FA Cup that saw City overcome Newcastle United in the third round and Tottenham in the fourth round.
Then, four goals in seven appearances during Leicester’s stunning surge to top flight safety over April and May took his total to 13 goals in all competitions, with 11 of those coming in the league.
Now, LCFC.com takes a look at the other five to make it into double figures in the Premier League for the Foxes...
1996/97 – Emile Heskey (10) & Steve Claridge (11)
Academy graduate Emile Heskey made his debut for Leicester City in 1995, and it didn’t take long for him to establish himself as goalscorer in a blue shirt. The following season, he notched 10 Premier League goals, including doubles against Blackburn Rovers and Southampton. His partnership with Steve Claridge, who netted 11 league goals in that season, fired the Foxes to a ninth-place finish in the 1996/97 campaign. Heskey also scored a 118th-minute equaliser against Middlesbrough in the League Cup Final to force a replay, which Leicester would go on to win thanks to Claridge’s strike in extra-time.
1997/98 – Emile Heskey (10)
Heskey, now a Club Ambassador, again made it into double figures for the Foxes in the 1997/98 campaign. His total of 10 Premier League goals ensured City would finish in the top half of England’s top flight, with braces against Chelsea, Crystal Palace and local rivals Derby County helping Martin O’Neill’s men to 10th in the table.
1998/99 – Tony Cottee (10)
Tony Cottee’s 10 goals in the 1998/99 season saw City record another 10th-place Premier League finish as they looked to establish themselves in England’s top flight. Cottee’s three goals in the League Cup Semi-Final over two legs against Sunderland meant Leicester made another appearance in the final of the competition, which ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
1999/00 – Tony Cottee (13)
Cottee bagged 13 Premier League goals in the 1999/00 campaign, meaning City recorded a fourth consecutive top half finish in the Premier League. As well as impressing in the league, Cottee’s display in the League Cup Final helped Leicester helped the Foxes win the trophy for the second time in three years.
2003/04 – Les Ferdinand (12) & Paul Dickov (11)

Strikers Les Ferdinand and Paul Dickov netted a combined 23 Premier League goals in the 2003/04 campaign, but couldn’t prevent the Foxes from returning to England’s second tier. Ferdinand scored on his league debut for City in the 2-2 draw with Southampton, while Dickov would net Leicester’s final goal of the season in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.
