Leicester City confirmed the capture of French defender Bruno N'Gotty from Birmingham City on a free transfer on Monday.

The 35-year-old centre half started his career at hometown club Olympique Lyonnais, where he went on to make over 230 appearances between 1989-95.

A three-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain followed before N'Gotty made the move to Italian giants AC Milan in 1998. The player made 34 appearances during a two-year spell at the San Siro.

He returned to France to play for Olympique Marseille in 2001, before joining Bolton Wanderers, initially on loan, a year later.

N'Gotty went on to make 134 Premiership appearances for the Trotters during a four-year stint at the Reebok Stadium, and was a linchpin in the Lancashire club's success during that period.

His time with Bolton came to an end in 2006 when he joined Birmingham City. The player went on to make 25 Championship starts for the Blues last season, scoring one goal.

N'Gotty has signed a two-year deal with the Foxes.
