Seven Up As Chambers Completes Switch
Leicester City boss Martin Allen made it summer signing number seven today following the capture of James Chambers from Watford.
Chambers, 26, arrives at the Walkers Stadium with a wealth of experience behind him - having won promotion on three separate occasions during his career to date.
Predominantly a right-back, Chambers has been known to also play at left-back and in the centre of midfield during his career.
The player made 15 appearances for the Hornets last season, with 12 of those coming in the Premiership.
Chambers joins fellow new recruits Bruno N'Gotty, Jimmy Nielsen, Carl Cort, Ricky Sappleton, Radostin Kishishev and Sergio Hellings at the Walkers Stadium - who have also signed for the Foxes over the close season.
City manager Allen said: "James is a player who we have been after for a little while. Other clubs were involved so it is good that we have been able to get the deal done.
"He is strong minded, pacey and he is good in one on ones. He can play right-back, left-back or in the centre of midfield.
"Having met him a couple of times he is very down to earth. He's a decent sort of person and I like those type of people."
Chambers began his career at West Bromwich Albion as a trainee and signed professional forms in 1999. Over the next five seasons he would make 71 appearances for the Baggies, before moving to Watford for £250,000 in August 2004.
Chambers made 88 appearances for the Hornets over the following three seasons, and was part of the side that gained promotion to the Premiership in 2006.
James' twin brother Adam is currently on the books at League One side Leyton Orient.
