Pearson Proud
Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson said he could take plenty of positives out of his side's 3-2 defeat at the hands of Fulham.
The Foxes went into the final stages of the Carling Cup second round tie with a 2-1 advantage - Paul Dickov and Andy King grabbing the goals.
But late strikes from Jimmy Bullard and Danny Murphy send the home side through.
Pearson said: "Of course we come away from Craven Cottage incredibly disappointed - but there were plenty of pluses to take out of that game tonight.
"It took us a little while to get into it, but I was delighted with our performance in the second half. We went about it the right way and caused them a heck of a lot of problems.
"In all honesty I think that we probably deserved to nick it on the night - but we didn't and we have now got to draw a line under it and move on.
"It wasn't a fitness thing - unfortunately we just couldn't see it through. You have also got to give Fulham a lot of credit for the way they have kept going right until the end.
"I am very disappointed that we are not in the next round - but we have got to live with it and move on. We have now got a very important game against Cheltenham Town on Saturday to prepare for."
Pearson also gave special praise to the 2,000 Leicester supporters who made the trip to the capital for the game.
He added: "I thought the support tonight was absolutely tremendous - as it has been for all of the games since I arrived at the club.
"We have got a lot of young players in our squad and the fans give all of the lads a massive boost."
