City Strengthen Board Of Directors

Posted on: Wed 12 Nov 2008
Leicester City's board of directors has been strengthened by the arrival of experienced businessman Atul Sharma.

Sharma is a UK based chartered accountant in the City of London who specialises in corporate finance with a focus on international tax planning and wealth management.

City's newest addition has an abundance of international experience and contacts in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Sharma said: "It is indeed a pleasure to be asked to join the Board of Leicester City; a progressive club with an excellent tradition.

"I particularly relish the opportunity to support Chairman Milan Mandaric in building a sustainable foundation both on-and-off the field that can help the club to achieve its targets and reach the Premier League.

"In fact I was born in Uganda and many of my family and friends moved to Leicester and now support the club.

"In a week of change in the world it is indeed welcome that myself, as an Asian and a keen football fan, has been given the chance to help this great club move forwards in a new direction."

Mandaric added: "I am delighted that someone with Atul's experience and understanding of business and football has agreed to join the club.

"We have big plans and ambition for this club and Atul's appointment is another step along the way to making Leicester City a major force once again."

Sharma joins Mandaric, Chief Executive Lee Hoos, Tony Lander, and Malcolm Stewart-Smith on the board and will attend this evening's League One fixture against Yeovil Town at the Walkers Stadium.
