Leicester City Football Club have reached out to the community this week, by allowing children aged between 8-13 to come and play on the Walkers Stadium pitch and enjoy a three-day coaching course.

The course has been a massive success with all places being sold within a couple of weeks and has been designed to teach the participating children all aspects of the game such as passing, dribbling, shooting and team play. There is also a focus upon educating children as to the benefits of regular exercise and keeping fit and active.

The children will receive a ground tour and hopefully a peep at the Coca-Cola League One trophy.

Craig White, Leicester City Football in the Community Manager, said: "This course has had a tremendous response and was sold out in a few weeks. It shows a big commitment from the club to the community by offering these initiatives, the kids will have a fantastic week and have also received coaching by ex-Leicester City player, Matt Elliott."

He added: "This is just the start of what we are trying to do for the community. We have our summer courses running all over the county this year for 5-13 year olds for boys and girls of all abilities."

Bookings are taking place at the moment for Ashby, Blaby, Oakham, Hinckley, Leicester, South Wigston, Melton, Oadby, Barrow and there is also a one-day talent camp where any children that show potential will be invited to attend for club scouts to observe and hopefully recruit.
