Leicester City will face League Two side Macclesfield Town in the first round of the Carling Cup.

The tie will be played at Moss Rose during week commencing August 10. The draw was confirmed at 9.30am on Tuesday, June 16.

The two sides met at the same stage of the competition during the 2006/07 season - goals from Chris O'Grady and Patrick McCarthy guided a youthful Leicester City side to a 2-0 victory at the Walkers Stadium.

Meanwhile the club's forthcoming Championship campaign will take shape with the release of the preliminary fixture list tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am.
