City midfielder Richie Wellens wants his side to build on their great opening day win by progressing through to the next round of the Carling Cup against Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose tomorrow night.
The cheers from the win over Swansea seem to be still ringing round the place but Wellens knows the humbler surroundings of the League Two side present a very different challenge.
He said: "In the first couple of cup games you are just trying to get through. People will look at it and see a lower league side away from home but it is never that easy, it is always difficult.
" They will put a lot of balls in the box and put us under pressure but if we show the same focus and attitude as we did against Swansea on Saturday I am sure we will be OK."
City will go to Cheshire on the high of the Swansea result which Wellens sees as proof that City have what it takes to compete at this level following promotion. The Swans were one of the better sides in the Championship last season and finished up second best.
Wellens said: "It was difficult to come back from a goal down and win the game. With twenty minutes to go, many people would have taken a draw but we kept going. In the second half, we started to show we could make chances and be a decent side.
"It was a good day and the Swansea fans were good as well. You find in this league that teams will bring a good away following which makes it a better atmosphere and it was a good occasion."
City's finishing line-up had newcomers Chris Weale, Wellens, Dany N'Guessan and Martyn Waghorn on the field and everyone blended in as if they had been playing together for a while.
Wellens said: "In the first three or four games it is always difficult to get flowing football. In the first game of the season it is always very hot and you are not used to playing with some players even though you have worked with them in training so you have got to take that into account.
"But it is all about results, getting those points on the board and then finding your rhythm."
