Walkers Near Capacity Again

Posted on: Tue 10 Nov 2009

Nearly 29,000 people cheered on the players at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday as we confronted WBA. Once again, we hosted more fans than a number of the weekend's Premier League fixtures. Saturday's 28,748 was LCFC's second biggest home attendance this season, a mere hundred less than for the record game versus local rivals Derby County.

Manager Nigel Pearson said: "It was great playing in front of an almost full house. Of course it was disappointing not to get a positive result, but the fans were providing a very positive atmosphere. I think there is generally a very positive mood around City at the moment, which we have the fans to thank for.

"We are also looking forward to the Plymouth Argyle game. I remember last year's Leicester Mercury fixture attracting a lot of interest. We have a couple weeks to prepare for it as well and put on a good performance. After all, it is also nearing the time of Christmas when the tight league table is starting to take shape."

Tickets against Plymouth Argyle are on sale now. Leicester Mercury are running a special promotion for the game, enabling supporters to purchase tickets for as little as £1 for U8s, with adult tickets costing £10 or even less - read the Leicester Mercury to find out more. Our 2nd Half Season Tickets have also just become available - to apply, click here.
