Not the best but a point added to the total. That was City boss Nigel Pearson's frank assessment of today's 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at the Walkers Stadium.
The game beat the freeze thanks to the sterling efforts of many helpers but the win which would have lifted the Foxes to fourth in the Championship table proved elusive as City, stunned by a 20-second opener, levelled through Steve Howard but just could not tip the balance.
Pearson said: "It wasn't a very good game. I think we struggled a wee bit to get anything going today in a positive manner."
"It was a poor goal to concede and it set the tone for the afternoon. We tried hard but we didn't achieve the standards we set for ourselves this season although we got something out the game."
"We were just not at our game for whatever reason. We struggled to get any sort of fluency in our play, we didn't look as solid as we have done so all things considered it is a fair result to be honest."
"I don't think we deserved to get anything more out it."
City's attack suffered a couple of goal line clearances when a slice of better luck would have made a difference but Pearson added: "Yes but we were probably a bit too open. They enjoyed some potentially dangerous situations."
"It wasn't our best game, I am not going to dress it up but we have come out it with something positive and I always look for the positives anyway."
