Foxes number two Craig Shakespeare believes that set plays could hold the key to seeing off Championship leaders Newcastle United on Saturday evening.

Defensively Leicester have been undone by set pieces twice in as many games. Cardiff's equaliser in the FA Cup Fourth Round last week came from a free kick, and on Tuesday Roberto Colace's winner at Oakwell came from a corner.

Although it is at the other end where Shakespeare believes Leicester can benefit, providing they play well in other areas of the pitch.

"In the Championship if you stay in the game, a lot can depend on set plays. You can win games as Barnsley did the other nite."

City now possess a real weapon at free kicks and corners in the form of new signing Nolberto Solano. The Peruvian midfielder is an expert in dead ball situations and Shakespeare believes the 35 year old is capable of producing when it matters most.

"You seem him in training, his delivery, his quality is there for all to see. He could just be the difference we need at the end of the game."
