"Show The Real Leicester"

Posted on: Fri 26 Feb 2010

City boss Nigel Pearson says his side must produce a performance which shows just how good they can be as they prepare to welcome Nottingham Forest to the Walkers Stadium, in what is set to be a crucial game at the top of the Championship.

Leicester were beaten 5-1 by their East Midlands rivals back in December, on a day where Pearson's side were far from their best, and the Foxes' manager sees Saturday as the perfect time to right those wrongs.

"It's an opportunity for us to put a better show on, I think we owe that to ourselves. There's no doubt that on the day at Forest we were well below par."

City go into the game as one of the Championship's form sides having not lost in their last seven games and Pearson hopes Leicester can continue their good form against Forest.

"The bigger picture is that we want to remain in the race for promotion. We've done well this season and the game against Forest is the next chance for us to get three points.

There's a lot riding on it because it's a local derby and because of what happened at the City ground, but we'll just be looking to win the game."

Sky Sports subscribers can hear more from Pearson along with City midfielder Andy King on Big League Weekend as they look ahead to the clash with Forest. The programme is aired Friday at six o'clock on Sky Sports 1.
