One of Leicester's biggest sporting names, boxer Rendall Munroe, caught up with lcfc.com while preparing for his crucial upcoming fight in April.

The European Champion has 10 days of work left as a binman for Leicester City Council, after which he will take a break to concentrate on training for WBC super bantamweight final title eliminator on 23 April.

Known to be an avid City fan, he said: "I think the team are playing all right at the moment, obviously they started the season well, they had a little bit of a bad patch but the game against Nottingham Forest showed that they are good enough to be where they are and if you are asking me I'd have to say that I'd be happy with a top ten finish."

As a fellow athlete, he knows what a rollercoaster ride it can be.

Reflecting on the promotion push Rendall added: "In terms of them finishing in top six, they just have to have confidence in themselves. They get trounced by Forest one week and then we're beating them the next! It's just a case of having that confidence and believing that they are good enough to be up there."

Rendall comes to the Walkers Stadium as often as he can and also got the chance to walk on the sacred turf earlier this season.

He currently trains two to three times a day, getting ready to take on Mexican Victor Terrazas in a bid to challenge for the world title.
