Leicester were left frustrated on Saturday as their eight game unbeaten run was ended by struggling Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
City fell behind to an early Leon Clarke goal and never really recovered from that set-back, as they lost for the first time in five games on the road.
Striker Martyn Waghorn cut an increasingly isolated figure at the head of City's front three and the twenty year old admits Leicester struggled to get going against their lowly opponents.
"The first twenty minutes I thought we played some good football and created a few chances like that. But as the game went on I thought we panicked a little bit.
We started knocking long balls, and it was hard for me to challenge that way."
Waghorn, who has scored seven goals in sixteen starts this season, told Foxes Player that City tried to force the issue as they looked to find a way back into the game.
"You try that extra bit harder, try and create a few chances yourself. But on days like that things just don't seem to fall for you.
I think it was just a generally tough game and they are battling hard to try and get out of the relegation zone."
City may have to face some similar fixtures between now and the end of the season, as they play the likes of Reading, Watford and Peterborough all fighting to avoid relegation.
Waghorn says that Leicester will have learnt from Saturday's defeat and in future they will stick to their style of play.
"We've learnt not to play their type of game, and stick to playing our own style of football. If we pass the ball well then we'll win games."
