City first team player/coach Chris Powell praised the team's doggedness in their valuable 1-0 win at Crystal Palace last night.
The win took the Foxes to fourth in the Championship table and Powell said: "It was a hard fought win, a dogged performance and with the amount of games left it was a fantastic win for us in our quest to stay in the top six.
"We needed the second goal to ward off Palace but we got another clean sheet. With all the controversy of the sending-off, the boys have come through it."
City were puzzled that Claude Davis's red card for violent conduct in the area was not punished with a penalty kick, a decision which fortunately did not affect the ultimate outcome.
Powell said: "For me it should have been a penalty. The ball was in play and it should have been a spot kick but obviously they thought the red card was enough. We accepted it, obviously we got the goal and got the three points at a place where it is difficult to win.
"For Bruno, it is his fourth goal from left back, from a good move, and we would have liked a second but basically as long as you are knocking on the door, that is all you can ask for. One-nil away from home with ten games to go, that's great for us."
