City front man Martyn Waghorn believes that some of the younger players in the Foxes' squad have stepped up to the plate well in recent weeks in the absence of some of the more experienced heads in the squad.

Waghorn has replaced Matty Fryatt at the head of the Leicester front three and it's all he could have asked for after signing on loan from Sunderland at the start of the season:

"I've stepped in for Matty and I've relished it. It's been great playing football, starting games and scoring goals and I'm loving it."

The 20-year old striker also reserved praise for defenders Michael Morrison and Jack Hobbs, both in their early twenties and both in their first full season in the Championship.

Morrison and Hobbs formed an impressive central defensive pairing at Selhurst Park on Tuesday and Waghorn believes they adapted well to the loss of Wayne Brown to injury:

"The defence has been rock solid recently even without Browny, who's a great defender. Morro has moved across well and Hobbsy has pushed on even more in the past few weeks.

Morro has been different class all this season. He's played at right back which isn't even his natural position and done really well."

Waghorn scored a stunning volley against Coventry in the reverse fixture at the Ricoh earlier to earn the Foxes a point, but he is confident that Leicester can go one better at the Walkers and record a fourth successive league win:

"Coventry are on a good run at the moment, but I think we're better than them. We'll just have to see how it goes on Sunday."
