While the Foxes' pre-season steps up a gear in Slovenia, Leicester City Club Secretary, Andrew Neville's effort to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Leicester based charity 'The Harley Staples Fund' is now also underway.

As part of his trip Neville will be keeping a regular blog of his journey (connection permitting), one that has already shown what a challenging nine days it is going to be in the quest to raise as much as possible for a great cause.

The magnitude of the challenge has already hit home for Neville as he explained to LCFC.com on the first leg of his journey:

Day 1:

"Yesterday was a very busy day at the club and with final preparation for the trip I am already very tired.

It has proven difficult packing for the trip, either packing too much or packing too heavily, so much so that I have had to throw a few things out.

I left Leicester at about 1.30pm arriving at Heathrow for my flight to Schiphol, which was delayed until 7.30pm.

Check-in at the airport proved tricky as I had a couple of items thrown out, insect repellent and sun cream, one I could keep and one had to be left behind.

Following the delay I arrived at my first destination at 8.30pm, apart from the delay, it has been quite smooth journey...so far.

I have now transferred to my hotel for the night and waiting now overnight, then its back to the airport in the morning for the next leg of the trip."

Day 2 sees Neville make the trip from Amsterdam to Africa as he comes ever closer to the epic task in hand.
