Rotherham United - Tuesday 20th July
Don Valley Stadium, 7:45pm
Manager: Ronnie Moore
City's first English opponents of their pre-season programme will be Rotherham United, a side that narrowly missed out on promotion to League One last season.
Ronnie Moore's team finished fifth in the league, and reached the play-off final before losing 3-2 to Dagenham and Redbridge at Wembley.
The Millers have been busy in the transfer market this summer, their most recent acquisitions being Tom Elliott from Leeds, and former Walsall midfielder Mark Bradley on a free transfer.
Key Man - Adam Le Fondre
Le Fondre, 23, signed for Rotherham from Rochdale at the start of last season and made an instant impact in his first season at the club. Le Fondre scored 30 gols for the Millers, including goals in both of the play-off semi final legs against Aldershot Town.
Oxford United - Saturday 24th July
The Kassam Stadium, 3:00pm
Manager: Chris Wilder
Oxford United ended a four year exile out of the football league in May by gaining promotion to League Two via the Football Conference play-offs.
The U's beat Rushden and Diamonds in the semi final, before goals from Matt Green, James Constable and Alfie Potter helped them past York in the final.
Key Man: Ryan Clarke
In the Conference last season, only Champions Stevenage Borough had a better defensive record than the U's, and much of that success was down to goalkeeper Ryan Clarke.
The goalkeeper, who started his career with Bristol Rovers, was voted the club's Player of the Year, with over 40% of the votes.
Peterborough United - Tuesday 27th July
London Road, 7:45pm
Manager: Gary Johnson
Peterborough United were relegated from the Championship last season, just a year after being promoted from League One alongside Leicester.
The Posh got through four managers last term with Darren Ferguson, Mark Cooper and Jim Gannon preceding former Bristol City boss Gary Johnson.
City took four points from Peterborough last season, drawing 1-1 at the Walkers before a goal in each half from Steve Howard and Andy King helped the Foxes to a 2-1 win.
Key Man: Aaron McLean
Striker McLean scored 18 goals for the Posh in the season they were promoted from League One and Gary Johnson will be hoping he can do the same this time around.
Sunderland - Saturday 31st July
Walkers Stadium, 3:00pm
Manager: Steve Bruce
Steve Bruce oversaw a marked improvement in Sunderland's fortunes in the 2009/10 season. Having narrowly avoided relegation the year before, Bruce guided the Black Cats to 13th in the table.
Sunderland began their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win over a Munster XI with two goals from Foxes' favourite Martyn Waghorn.
The Black Cats will be without goalkeeper Craig Gordon for the start of the season after he broke his arm in training.
Key Man: Darren Bent
In his first season at the Stadiun of Light, Bent fully justified his £10 million price tag, scoring 25 goals in all competitions. The striker was perhaps unlucky not to be selected in Fabio Capello's World Cup squad.
