Foxes' goalkeeper Conrad Logan is hoping to impress new manager Paulo Sousa and give the gaffer a real selection dilemma when it comes to choosing between him and last season's number one Chris Weale.
Logan made only one start last season, in the final home league of the season against Middlesbrough, but says under Sousa every player starts with a clean slate.
"Chris did well last season, but for me with a new manager it's a fresh start. I want to impress him and see where it takes me. "
Logan has been in good form in City's pre-season friendlies and hasn't conceded in the victories over NK Aluminij and Rotherham United, and the Irishman says he wants to keep up that impressive run.
"Obviously goalkeepers pride themselves on clean sheets and whenever I get game time that's what I want to do, keep clean sheets and try and impress the manager."
Paulo Sousa has changed the wayCity play since being appointed as manager, and Logan and Chris Weale have to adapt to the new style just as much as the outfield players.
Logan says he is enjoying a different approach, but stressed that people must be patient as the squad get to grips with the finer points of the system.
"When a new manager comes in, it is going to take time. We are only back just over a week and the players are definitely buying into his ideas. It gives the players options and for a goalkeeper it gives us options too.
Sometimes as a keeper you just hoof the ball upfield looking for the striker but with this manager, we are encouraged to play it from the back if we can and that is what we do.
"We have to adapt. We spent a lot of time on that in Slovenia."
